WordPress 4.7 will launch with a brand new theme – Twenty Seventeen. Designed by Mel Choyce (@melchoyce), Twenty Seventeen sports a modern look and will make a good base for any business website or product showcase.
This site runs already Twenty-Seventeen. As you can see it moves away from the blogging metaphor and adopts a business-like style.
Demonstration: Add a video to the header?
First fail as video needs to be very very small:
I tried to upload a 19 second video and it went beyond the allowed upload size:
How to get pages in the ongoing scrolling?
Later on we’ll see how the Customizer works when it’s all enabled for the new theme.
In WordPress 4.7 the customizer gets even easier to use. The experimental feature by Weston Ruter has been merged into WP Core.
When looking at your site through the customizer, you now see blue circles with the edit pens next to the place where you can edit. See below video how this works. I like it what do you think?
The hope is that this feature will take some of the guesswork out of using various themes and how to customize it. Now you just click on the blue circle and the right customizer panel will open up so you can edit it immediately.
WPTavern reports, that although there is a default Theme support available, most theme developers would need to specifically enable the various methods for their theme. If you are a theme developer you can read more about it on Jeff Chandler’s post which as the various documentation links for you.
WordPress 4.7 is scheduled to be released on December 6th, 2016.

Why are we not seeing Thumbnails?
WPTavern notes some prerequisites for this to work:
In order to generate the previews, the web hosting server needs to support Imagick, ImageMagick, and Ghostscript. It might very well be that our server is not supporting this. It runs a rather old version of PHP.
Advanced Custom Fields is the perfect solution for any WordPress website which needs more flexible data like other Content Management Systems.
This could be your organisation’s sign-up post/page for a volunteer activity or just for letting you know they are interested.
You can add a contact form right into your post or pages by using the shortcode and it looks beautiful right out of the box.
It’s supposed to be creating a gallery when more than one image is sent. Let’s see if that works:
